The 18th Amendment
The government banned the use of alcohol and the sells of alcohol for a reason. If it wasn't important then why would the government be doing this is the first place.
Speakeasies
People created illegal drinking spots for the people that still wanted to drink. Many people throughout the United States were involved in creating and being a part of these speakeasies.
Why Alcohol was Banned
Alcohol was banned because a lot of milestones were happening in the United States. Some of the milestones were women's suffrage and slavery. Many people used drinking as their escape and their actions were getting out of hand.
Government and Their Actions
Both the Federal and Local government struggled to enforce the prohibition laws over the course of the 1920's. The decided to do it all over the country.
