On a mission to find my very first heifer!

How my journey began:

It took a lot of hard work to earn two calf scramble certificates! I almost had three, but fell short at San Antonio when I somehow ended up underneath a heifer. All I caught that day was a black eye as the heifer drug her hoof across my face to escape! My mom was relieved that my teeth didn't get knocked out! We just got my braces off. I did manage to catch at Ft. Worth and Houston without any mishaps. Thank you donors for making this possible!

Thank you Mr. Goodman!

I can't thank you enough for supporting the Fort Worth Calf Scramble program. I am so lucky to have you be a part of this exciting journey in my life. I look forward to sharing this experience. I can't wait to find my heifer, and I promise to keep you updated as events unfold.

I will leave you with a very exciting happening. I am a member of the Celeste FFA livestock judging team. My team and I have been working very hard to learn proper techniques for evaluating and selecting livestock including breeding heifers and market steers. We have been to many practice contests including Houston, San Antonio, West Texas A&M, and Clarendon College. In April, my team qualified for the state livestock judging, and we competed at the state contest in College Station at Texas A&M University. I ranked 144th out of 384 individuals. Not too bad for a freshman! I will be putting these judging skills to the test as we continue our search for my first heifer.
