David

David was created between 1430-1440 by Donatello. This human sized statue was the first unsupported standing bronze casting. David was also the first nude male sculpture. This sculpture shows David standing on Goliath's head after David defeated the giant. This piece exemplifies humanism, showing the changing times and that the people have defeated the problems. This piece is so interesting to me because it changed the was sculptures and even artists created their pieces. This piece can still be seen today in Museo Nazionale del Bargello in Florence, Italy.
