January 2015
Mrs Sunshine's Principal Note
Welcome to 2015! Aristotle said, "Excellence is never an accident." As we embark on a new year, I want you to know that our staff is sincerely dedicated to excellence. We want your child's education to be meaningful, engaging and supportive. We will be implementing our new Project Lead the Way curriculum that uses project based learning to engage students in scientific and engineering problem solving. We are continuing to improve our integration of technology with our ipads and appreciate your support in this process. This month we will ask for input in strengthening our STEM education and taking steps forward in establishing community partnerships. I want to thank all of you for supporting your students in their educational and emotional growth. Your interest and support of your child's education at Buckingham Elementary is appreciated. Please know that I welcome feedback and encourage open communication. Together we will continue to grow and achieve excellence.
Thank you
Thank you to Highland Elementary and Miller Elementary for donating food and toys to some of our families over the holidays. We are grateful for the generosity of others.
Parking Lot Drop Off & Pick Up Change
We will ask that all students in grades 2nd-5th be picked up and dropped off in the back parking lot next to the bus loop. We need to reduce the amount of cars in the front lot. Thank you for your help.

January's Character Trait is Respect
We will take time in the month of January to teach students to demonstrate respect for themselves, friends, adults and their school. It is important that we lead by example in how we interact with each other. It is important to be aware of our own tone, intentions and modeling of respectful behaviors.
