How do I complete Residency Verification (Proof of Residence)?
You need to do this before you are able to pick up a student's schedule.
Before you begin your submission, you will need to have electronic copies of your Proof of Residency and parent/guardian Photo ID. An electronic copy can be a picture or a scanned file created by a scanning app from your smartphone. You can take a picture of single page documents with the camera on your phone. Multi page documents will need to be scanned into a single file. Some suggested scanning apps are CamScanner, TurboScan and SimpleScan. For detailed instructions on the use of CamScanner click here: CamScanner for iPhone, iPad and Android (Also posted on our website at enrollment.mustangps.org/Enrollment).
The Proof of Residency and Photo ID will need to be uploaded to this submission form from your computer or mobile device.
Acceptable proofs include: gas, water, electric bills, warranty deed statement, ad-valorem tax statement, mortgage statement, rental agreements, or construction contract. (non-utility bills such as cable, phone and internet bills will not be accepted)
If you have more than one student at Canyon Ridge, you will need to submit a form for each student.
OH, NO! WHEN can we get schedules if we CAN'T attend Saturday's Camp Canyon/Schedule Pick-Up?
You may pick up class schedules Mon., Tues., or Wed., 8/9, 8/10, or 8/11, prior to the 1st day of school, from our CRI front office between 8am - 3pm.

- Teachers & Principals will be involved in trainings throughout our building, therefore students will NOT be able to tour the building or walk their schedule that week. However, we promise to have kind, friendly adults helping your child find their way around, learn their schedule, and feel welcome from the moment they step through our doors on the 1st day of school, Aug. 12th! We will help them have a wonderful day!
Where will students go in the Morning? Arrive by 8am!
Kids should try to arrive between 7:35am - 8am.
Friendly Canyon Ridge faces will greet your child every day and help them. Students will enter through car-rider or bus doors. Kids may eat breakfast in the cafeteria, and then report to their assigned location. Locations are determined by teams & homeroom teachers. We will highlight your child's homeroom teacher's name, and there will be colorful stickers and signs to help clarify locations. The key follows:
- 5th grade Teams 5A and 5C - If the homeroom teacher's classroom is in the A-hall, students will sit in homeroom lines in the Gym.
- 5th grade Team 5B - If the homeroom teacher's classroom is in the B-hall, students will sit on a color-coded dot near their homeroom teacher's name in the North or Main Entry hallways.
- 6th grade Teams 6A and 6C - If the homeroom teacher's classroom is in the D-hall, students will sit in homeroom lines in the Gym.
- 6th grade Team 6B - If the homeroom teacher's classroom is in the C-hall, students will sit on a color-coded dot near their homeroom teacher's name in the South or Main Entry hallways
Arrive by 8am! At 8am, homeroom teachers will welcome your child and walk them to class.
What should we expect on the 1st day of school when we drop our child off?
Family good-byes will need to be done outside. We promise to welcome and help your child as they walk in the door, guide them where to go, and give them tours throughout the school day. There will be friendly, caring, & helpful teachers and staff located throughout the building to assist students in getting to their designated locations in the morning, guide them from class to class, and help alleviate fears and begin making new friends.
What are Procedures for Morning Drop-off?
- You must travel SOUTH on SARA ROAD.
- Please understand.
AFTER 7:35 & AFTER 3:05: You must approach traveling North on Sara Road, loop around the building, and continue traveling North on Sara Road after drop off. Don't arrive early because you cannot wait in line and will have to pass by the school.
- Cars need to approach the school from the South traveling North on Sara Road.
- Cars enter the South Drive (right turn only to enter the drive.) Cars circle behind the building and drop off by the gym/band room behind the school. Pull up as far as you can to help get more cars off of Sara Road & speed up the process.
- Exit the south drive (Right turn only back onto Sara Road), continuing Northbound on Sara Road.
TIME YOUR DROP-OFF CORRECTLY:
- BETWEEN 7:35 & 8:00 am
Do not arrive prior to 7:35am at which time we open the GATE. If you arrive earlier, you will have to pass our school. There is no waiting on Sara Road or around our school. - BETWEEN 3:05 & 3:10pm - School is out at 3:05 It clears out very quickly. If you arrive earlier, you will have to pass our school.
Will my child be able to eat breakfast in the mornings?
May I come to have lunch with my child?
Unfortunately, Lunch/Breakfast visitation will be strictly limited to meal drop-off only (leaving lunch for your child in the front office) to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff and reduce the risk of Covid. We greatly miss having our families and visitors in the building.
May I volunteer at the school?
We sincerely appreciate our volunteers! However, at this time, volunteers will be extremely limited and must have a building administrator’s prior approval. When we are able to incorporate parent volunteers more frequently, we will send out a survey and allow parents to sign up to help. We love our families and want you to feel welcome and involved in our school.
Will there be any safety precautions in place in the cafeteria during lunch periods?
Yes, social distancing procedures will be in place. Students will sit at homeroom tables every other seat. This will reduce the number of varied students they come in contact with for longer periods of time. Students will wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before and after eating.
How do I check my student out from school early? Arrive PRIOR to 2:45
We understand there is occasionally a need to check a student out early.
Parents/Guardians need to come into the office prior to 2:45 & show their ID using the SafeSchoolID kiosk to sign a student out of school throughout the day. Parents then go into the waiting area located in our glass vestibule.
- ARRIVE PRIOR TO 2:45 to request early checkout.
- The FRONT DRIVE & PARKING LOT is used for BUSES 2:45 and 3:15pm.
- We do not call students out of class between 2:45 - 3:05 due to the confusion it causes for students who are traveling around the building, ending class, cleaning up, and packing things away and the congestion with buses at the front doors.
Thank you for your understanding!
What will the procedure be for Afternoon Dismissal & After-school Pick-Up?
All students will be called from their classrooms to cars, buses, to walk, or to go to Bronco Club. Students will social distance and exit through a variety of doors at staggered times.
- Our pick-up locations for car-riders and buses will remain the same: CAR-RIDER-rider behind the school (enter S. drive; exit N. drive); BUSES in front of the school.
- Students will be dismissed from their last-hour classrooms to avoid large gatherings of students waiting in the gym or hallways.
- We will use a digital program to notify students in classrooms. You will receive your NEW CAR TAG on Schedule Pick-Up Day, Aug. 7th.
- It is important you have a numbered car tag before the first day of school. Please be extremely patient with this process during the first two weeks of school as we expect a larger volume of car-riders.
- FOR DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS, see Drop-Off Instructions above.
A HUGE "THANK YOU" to FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH & WELL CHURCH for their donations to CRI to pay for this wonderful, safe automated system & make this possible for our kids & families. We are SO GRATEFUL for their generosity.
Does my child need a Water Bottle? Yes!
- Bring a filled water bottle labeled with the student's name every day.
- Water bottles should be clear if possible.
- Water fountains and bottle fillers will be available for students to refill their water bottles.
- Students should not share water bottles with others.
If you need assistance in purchasing a water bottle, please let the counselor or homeroom teacher know. We are happy to help.
Who will be available to check the health/wellness of students & staff?
Will there be school-wide assemblies?
We will involve students in making enjoyable videos to celebrate one another, too!
What is the plan for students while traveling in the halls?
At times, students will walk in lines. We will encourage walking approximately an arm’s distance from one another. We have dots in several high-traffic areas to assist students in judging distances walking in lines and promote greater distance from other students. Students may still talk, visit, and greet each other in hallways.
Will there still be Life Apps/library/GATE/Special Education Services?
What are the safety precautions that will be put in place in the classroom?
Reduce the number of students nearby during in-person instruction whenever possible.
- Desks or tables will be socially distanced as much as possible.
- Seating charts will be used.
We'll move classes outdoors whenever possible.
How will School Supplies be used?
- primarily use their own supplies.
- use their backpack to transport their supplies from class to class.
- use an assigned a cubby to store their extra supplies.
NOTE: A minimal # of supplies will be collected. If students are using shared supplies, they will be cleaned periodically.
Will students be able to have snacks at school?
Yes, however, this is at the discretion of each teacher unless for individual health needs. If snacks are needed for a student's health, snacks are often kept in the nurse's office. Please notify the nurse and teacher. If snacks are allowed in class, only individual-sized snacks will be allowed; snacks are not to be shared.
Will students be able to have class parties?
- Students at intermediate and middle school level do NOT have class parties.
- Please do NOT send cupcakes or snacks to be given or shared with peers.
We do feature students' bdays on daily announcements and call them to the front office to celebrate them. We celebrate summer bdays in this way as well.
Will rooms, desks/chairs be cleaned?
Yes, classrooms will be cleaned regularly. Any additional anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, or Lysol spray that families can provide will be greatly appreciated!
What happens if we transition from Traditional to Distance Learning?
All students will be connected to their teachers via Canvas (learning management system) to promote a seamless transition from face-to-face learning to distance learning. Principals and teachers will communicate with you to best support our kids and families.
What happens if school has started and you change your mind regarding the type instruction you want for your child? (Ex: Your child started in Virtual Instruction but wants to change to Traditional Instruction.)
We look forward to partnering with you to make this a safe, happy, successful & fun year for your child!
