Week of November 13
SIT Meeting Tomorrow 3:30-4:30pm - Important Budget Process - Please Read
Please share with your grade level rep ideas to be discussed. Over the last two years, we submitted requests for Capital = Media Center Chairs, cafeteria tables, whiteboards, bookshelves for Coltrane building, and teacher tables; Operational = Increase in Teacher supplement, EC allotment increase, Full-time STEM coach; Technology = increase in break/fix budget, another break/fix technician, devices in K-2 (we got these), purchase of instructional software.
Please know that these are items that can be reused each year. For example, I believe that we should include in this year's list, like we did last year, update whiteboards throughout campus. If you have any other suggestions, please let me or your department/grade level rep know.
As always, you do not have to be a member of the SIT team to participate - all are welcome.
ED CENTER WINTER BREAK OFFICE COVERAGE DATES & Courier Dates
Ed Center front desk coverage: There will be NO RECEPTION COVERAGE on December 22 through January 1, 2019, as we will not be open to the public. Our normal schedule will resume January 2, 2019
We will not have courier service on December 24-31 or January 1, 2019.
Update from District Level Safety Audit
1. Only one classroom door was left unlocked on the entire campus.
2. Mainly, the common areas had doors unlocked - remember, all doors must be locked at all times - no exception. We are removing the door to the kitchenette in the K-2 building - this is always open anyway and we have unplugged the stove, which can be still used when needed. Additionally, we are placing work orders for more keys to be delivered for Conference Room access - this door must always remain locked.
3. The Makerspace must always remain locked but was left open and unlocked. Students should not be sent to this location to retrieve anything. If you access this room, you must lock it behind you.
Intervention Central - Great Resources!!!
STAFF SHOUT-OUTS!
Shout-out to Elana Moore! As one person put it, "she is always willing to step in and help out...allowing time for science projects and helping students work through the changes this year."
Shout-out to Allysea Thompson, Ms. Nunes, and their class. People observed that class following all the directions and Ms. Thompson does a great job prepping them for changes and managing behavioral expectations in the hallways at all times.
