Kindergarten Celebrates Halloween
On Halloween, our kindergarteners celebrated during centers. Students made a craft with Halloween stickers, played Halloween Bingo, made a popcorn hand with candy corn, passed out candy to friends, had spider races and even went pumpkin bowling! Parent volunteers helped run our centers and it was a huge success. Students were full of smiles, created memories that will last all year and brought home artifacts to share with their families. We appreciate all the support that was provided from our families to make this a day that our students will not forget.
5th Grade Glow Day
The fifth grade ELA classes participated in a class transformation GLOW Day! Mrs. Ostrowski’s classroom was decorated with neon and glow in the dark materials. Black lights were used to illuminate everything in the room. When the students entered the classroom, they were amazed by the cool glow effect. Students participated in a variety of academic activities including reading an article about how glowsticks work, playing Jenga glow grammar, writing vocabulary words in highlighter, dissecting sentences, tic-tac-glow, listening to a story about fireflies, and building with neon Play-doh. The students worked in groups with their peers at each of the centers, all while being highly engaged and having a blast! It was a very memorable day for all!
Halloween Around Disney
Ready or not- the cold weather is here!
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons. We're starting to see MANY students bundled up each day, which is great! Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter.
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season. If items are labeled we will do our best to return them to students.
HEART classes participate in Red Ribbon Week
In HEART class we celebrated Red Ribbon Week the week of Oct. 23rd – 27th. The theme for Red Ribbon Week is “Be Kind to Your Mind, Live Drug Free!” Red Ribbon Week is a week where people, schools, and communities unite and take a visible stand against drugs. During HEART class students focused on healthy habits and choices. Students pledged to live a drug free life. Disney celebrated with a spirit week and Red Ribbons were worn by all staff and students to show that we pledge to make good choices.
4th - 6th grade students can still participate in the Red Ribbon week poster contest! Submissions are due by November 10th
Save the Date - 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Winter Music Concert

Health Guidance for Attending School
We want to partner with our families to make our school a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for your students.
Make sure to send your child to school if they are generally healthy and able to participate in their usual day-to-day activities. Avoid keeping children at home unless they are too sick to participate.
We have put together this helpful chart of when to keep your child home and when they can return to school for common illnesses.
Red Flag means Indoor Lineup
When the red flag is hung outside the front of the building, this means indoor line-up due to inclement weather. Our students can enter the building at 8:20! As a reminder, the bus loop is not a drop off zone, this area needs to stay open during arrival and dismissal times.
