PLC ~ Professional Learning Communities
Campus leadership teams, Dr. Cheek and I learned more about PLC meetings and conducting them for different purposes and with different teams of people. Participants will take their learning back to the campus and assist in the facilitation of focused and purposeful PLC meetings to improve student outcomes.
I am excited to continue to see the PLCs throughout the District and I want to express a HUGE THANK YOU to the campus leaders who have agreed to lead their teams!

Bonham Education Foundation Awards Ceremony
150 students, sophomores through seniors, were recognized for their grade point average today - Friday, November 22nd. Students who maintained at least a 4.0 or higher grade point average for the previous year were honored.
The first year a student achieves this honor, they are awarded a purple blanket that is embroidered with their class year and a symbol of the school. In subsequent years, students are given a patch to add to the blanket they have already received.
Chance Roberts, BHS Alumni and BISD Board of Trustees President, gave the speech telling students that through hard work and determination, they can achieve all of their goals.

Community Connection ~ Spirit of Giving
The sixth annual Spirit of Giving Community Christmas Party is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2019, 10 AM – Noon.
First Presbyterian Church of Bonham hosts the Christmas Party. Church members and partners donate new and gently used items which are given away, free of charge, to those in attendance.
All donated items are sorted and displayed at various stations, including coats, jewelry, household goods, holiday decorations, small furniture items, toys, etc. Everyone who attends the event, regardless of age, receives five tickets to “purchase” anything they want for FREE. Items large and small have a “cost” of one ticket. There are no income limits, paperwork, or qualifications imposed.
Please pass this information along to those who could benefit or when closet cleaning put back some gently used items to donate for next year.
