Some thoughts for this Week
Edition #24
Hello Woodsy Owls,
Hello Woodsy Owls. This year is just rolling by so fast. Five more days and then a full week off for Presidents' Week. Amazing how time flies when you are having fun.
I want to thank you so much. We nearly doubled the amount of surveys returned, and now the School Site Council and Staff can work on making some plans for future growth and improvement.
Between now and the end of the year we have state testing for third grade, a schoolwide talent show, a schoolwide jog-a-thon, and many other super exciting events to plan.
Our District Education Foundation, PHEF, also has a great fundraiser planned. Plan now to join us for a fabulous evening. The details are below this.
We are seeing slow improvement in our pick-up procedures, and I want to thank those of you that are brining your kindness and patience. There is no simple solution. Below this opening letter is a diagram. Please note that we have special parking up front and need to make sure that those people can come and go without being blocked in. We also need to make sure that we aren't making two rows at Kiss-n-Drop. Doing this blocks in the far right row AND prohibits emergency vehicles from accessing the school should that be needed. The pink star is where starting at dismissal time I, or other staff, will be sorting the cars by grade level. I also will be walkie-talkie-ing ahead to make sure that your students know to be ready for pick-up. It is not a perfect system, but Friday we were able to get through dismissal five minutes quicker than normal.
Thank-you so much to all of you families that so wonderfully model kindness to your children. Having patience, not blocking people in, and moving slowly through the parking lot are great ways to keep our kiddos safe.
Thanks
Have a great week, and remember It takes A Village.......
