ANNUAL ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION OPEN UNTIL JUNE 8
Dripping Springs ISD’s annual enrollment verification process for all students opened Thursday, May 11. According to state law, this process must be completed each year for all students – those who have previously been enrolled in DSISD and those who are new to our district and previously completed registration in the spring. This annual process has traditionally been done late in the summer but is being conducted earlier this year to allow campuses time to confirm classroom assignments.
Family Access logins are used to begin this process. Parents received a reminder e-mail with their Family Access login information before the enrollment verification window opened.
Please complete enrollment verification for each child in your family as soon as possible; this process should be completed before Thursday, June 8. During the enrollment verification process, parents will complete back-to-school forms. This process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Some campuses require additional forms, such as the parking permit request at the high school.
One step in the process allows parents the opportunity to customize how they will receive notifications from the district. This step will include a link directing parents to the Blackboard website, where they may indicate how they would like to receive district time-sensitive notifications. Blackboard uses the same login as Family Access.
If you have problems with the online process, please contact your child’s campus and ask for the Family Access contact/Student Records Specialist. Computers are available at campuses for those who do not have one available at home.
DSISD ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY TRANSFER PROGRAM
Dripping Springs ISD is experiencing a high concentration of growth on three campuses – Dripping Springs Elementary, Walnut Springs Elementary, and Sycamore Springs Middle School. Because of this rapid growth, these campuses have exceeded their functional capacity.
With capacity available at other schools, the district is allowing a limited number of transfers out of these three campuses for the 2023-24 school year. The application period runs until Friday, May 26 at 5:00 p.m. More information and the application form can be found here.
TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES COMPETE AT STATE MEET
Three Dripping Springs High School track and field athletes concluded their 2023 season at the UIL 6A State Meet on Saturday, May 13 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
Making her first state meet appearance, senior Sophia Farris timed 43.09 in the 300-meter hurdles to take fifth place. Earlier this month, she set a school record in the event with 42.29 at the regional competition.
On the field, senior Ava Williamson made her second state appearance in the high jump, clearing five feet two inches to place ninth. Williamson set a school record in the event at the area meet on April 19 with a jump of five feet seven inches.
In the discus, junior Tomsen Vickery placed ninth with a throw of 158 feet 10 inches. At the regional meet, Vickery set a school record in the discus with 181 feet three inches to place second and qualify for his first state meet.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL VACCINATIONS
The Hays County Local Health Department is urging families to get back-to-school vaccinations for their students before the end of summer to avoid long wait times when clinics are overwhelmed with appointments.
