Texas Revolution
The Texas Revolution was also known as the war of independence. it was the conflict of Mexico and Texas government that were mostly land owner from the U.S. it began with the Battle of Gonzales on October 1835 and ended with The Battle of San Jacinto on April 1836.
battle of the Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo took place in 1836 and sparked when Texas wanted to win there independence from Mexico. The war went on in the Alamo, the end result was mexico won and Texas lost loosing 189-250 soldier, for that reason Texas was still apart of Mexico.
Battle of Gonazales
While military commander Domingo de Ugartechea heard that American colonist of Gonzales refused to return a small cannon he sent 100 dragoons to retrieve it. This began the first battle of the Texas Revolution in 1835. This battle ended. Within several hours of desultory firing, the Mexican soldiers withdrew.
Battle of San Jacinto
The Battle of San Jacinto was the concluding military event of the Texas revolution and was on the date of April 21, 1836. The general of Texas was Sam Houston, and the general of the Mexican army was Santa Anna. Texas defeated mexico in a war that lasted just 20 minutes. About 630 of the Mexican soldiers were killed and 730 were captured, only 9 Texas soldiers died.
Siege the Bexar
Siege the Bexar became the first major campaign of the Texas Revolution. The battle kicked of when a Texas force drove of Mexican troops at Gonzales on October 2nd. The Texas army grew to about 300 men and they also elected Stephan F. Austin commander to bring unity. The battle ended leaving Mexican troops empty handed loosing and Texas defeating them.
Battle of Goliad
the Battle of Goliad was the second skirmish of the Texas Revolution. This battle took place in Goliad, Texas, on 1835. Texas army won this battle. members of the Texas militia began marching towards Goliad, the Texans soon realized the the members had already left San Antonio.
Battle of Coleto
The Battle of Coleto was fought on march 19 -20, 1836 during the Goliad campaign of the Texas Revolution. In February Jose de Urrea led Mexican army of Mexican army up the Gulf Coast of Mexican towards Goliad. Mexico defeated the Texas army.
