HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023

October 11, 2022 - Vol.2 Issue 7

From the Principal's Office

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our Hawk Walk Kickoff was a great success! Our students and teachers learned what color they will be wearing for the Hawk Walk and our teachers challenged our 8th grade to the Turkey Bowl! To get to the Turkey Bowl, our school must meet its goal of $35,000! We are hopeful we can meet that goal! The Turkey Bowl is a fun experience for all our students as we gather on the field and cheer on the faculty and the 8th grade in a competitive game of flag football! The faculty has a 2-0 record, so our 8th grade is getting ready to step up their game! We have gotten off to a great start with our Hawk Walk! As of today, the total donated is $6,265!!! Updates on our progress will be shared on our Facebook page each Tuesday and Friday during the four weeks our platform is opened. Thank you in advance for supporting the Hawk Walk!

After school clubs are underway here at Holy Family! Our Running Club got their start last Tuesday. Students are preparing for the Gifts from Gwyn 5K, scheduled for Saturday, November 5. The Comic Book Club also started last week! This club is for students in grades 4 and 5 and exposes young writers and illustrators to the process of creating a comic book. Next week, our 5th -8th grade students can sign up to participate in the Flag Football Club. This popular club will meet on Thursdays and culminates with our 8th grade players taking on the Faculty in the Turkey Bowl!

This coming Monday October 17, school will be closed for a faculty professional development day. On Wednesday of next week, October 19, school will be dismissing at 11:30 AM (11:00 AM for PK3 and PK4) due to the Sacrament of Confirmation Mass at Queen of the Universe at 4:00 PM. There will be no afternoon CARES, or the sending home Bensalem bus on October 19.

Please mark your calendars to SAVE THE DATE for our Holy Family Christmas Pageant! Our pageant will take place on the morning of December 20 at 9:30 AM in the Queen of the Universe Church, and again on the afternoon of December 21 at 1:00 PM, also in the church. It is hard to believe we are already planning for the holidays!

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Mrs. Haggerty
