Mrs. Miller's Weekly Update
March 21 - March 27, 2022
The quote above is so fitting, and it reminds me of spring and being positive. It also makes me think of another of my favorite quotes, seen below:
Spring break was a great opportunity for me to do that. For 3 days, I pretty much disconnected from social media and the news and focused on being present in the moment. That is something I don't do nearly often enough, and it felt great!
As things wind back up, I am certain our days will be fast and furious from now until the end of the school year. We have our spring sports and activities to look forward to, and of course graduation and all of the end of the year celebrations. Before we know it, just like this week of spring break, the school year will be over.
So.... the challenge I present to myself and to each of you is to focus on the positive. When things get overwhelming and stressful, take a deep breath and find the good in the situation. I know this is easier said than done sometimes. However, when we can't change the circumstances, we can change how we respond to them. Our reaction is something we can control even if the situation is something we can't. It's all about our mindset.
"Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day." Focus on the good!
We are fortunate to have such talented artists at GHVHS, but don't take my word for it. You can see many of our students' pieces showcased at the North Iowa Student Art Exhibition in Clear Lake through April 1st.
For a sneak peak, look at the pictures below. We even have a display of our Rubik's Cube with faces outside the Clear Lake Art Center! Thanks to Rafe VanDusseldorp, Jake Burress, and Matt Obermann for their help in transporting and setting up the display.
CHECK OUT THE ARTWORK YOURSELF!
Well done, Mr. Obermann and our GHV art students. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
CONFERENCES!
And even if you don't have questions or concerns, come visit us anyhow. You can check out the latest improvements to our building....
