Black History Month 2021

Hancock Park Elementary School has been hosting our Monday Morning Mindfulness Moment (MMMM) Weekly Assemblies since 2018 which we have implemented as part of our school-wide focus on social emotional learning, mindfulness, and self-care practices. It was a short 5-minute Mindfulness activity where a class would have student representatives share on our school PA system for the whole school to partake in a mindfulness moment.

From the start of our 2020-21 school year, our MMMM webinars have transformed a bit to feature student panelists presenting socially relevant literature and/or self-care and mindfulness activities. The presentations span from socially conscious movements like Climate Change, featuring important diverse figures in history, or a mindfulness activity. The video we are sharing displays a group of fourth graders having a conversation about emotions/feelings at home and school and the students leading the school in a "Mood Walk" with Blazer Fresh from Go Noodle.
