5th grade Science
Our 5th grade students learned about soil last week from Mrs. Nalls, the Program Assistant from the County Extension office. Students sampled soil for its consistency and absorption of water. Our students attend science labs weekly to incorporate hands on learning activities within their science curriculum.
Little Mermaid Musical
Our students attended the musical November 30 at the high school. Our students were so well behaved and absolutely loved the performance. High school performers came by later in the day and delivered the souvenir boxes to the students. Students loved seeing the performers up close and personal.
Campus Improvement Committee
We held our first formative review of our Campus plan on December 5. Our community members and parents were in attendance as we reviewed our strategies and the progress we have obtained up to this point. I also shared the needs assessment with the committee and the problem statements that prompted our new strategies.
We are busy preparing for our Reading night on December 6. Each grade level is hosting a room with holiday activities centered around a Christmas book. The Lion Literacy Mobile Lab will be here along with a special visit from Santa. There will be guest readers and a session for our bilingual families on how to help their students at home.
