PRESIDENTS' DAY

"Honest Abe" Mitchell Grosky, visited K-2 students at RCS to recall the highlights of his life on the occasion of his birthday on February 12. Lincoln spoke of the 'never give up' attitude and struggles for equality that he battled during his life. Each child received a penny, with his engraved picture on it to remind them of the courage of Abe Lincoln, our 16th President.

COIN WARS

Our PTG organized a coin wars fundraiser to help fund classroom field trips and school events. During this friendly competition the class that raised the most money by adding pennies to their class's jar won a class celebration. There was a twist! Silver coins added to another class's jar deducted from their total. This fundraiser was a big hit before vacation with kindergarten and futures classes winning with jars overflowing with coins.

ROYALSTON 250th

The RCS sixth graders decorated vases that were displayed with floral arrangements at the Royalston 250th dinner/dance fundraiser. Students were excited and proud to take part in helping the town prepare to celebrate the 250th anniversary. Each student received a commemorative gold coin as a thank you for their efforts and involvement.
