Thanksgiving Feast Fun
We had so much fun sharing in our community of friends, eating popcorn wrapped like corn-on-the-cob, going on feather hunts, playing stick games and making butter.
We took time throughout the week, remembering the spirit of thanksgiving as Pre-K reflected with their buddies on all they have to be thankful for and our Early Learners, thought of people, places, and things that have been a blessing to them.
We spent many of our days throughout the month of November telling the story of the first Thanksgiving, including the journey of the Pilgrims from their homeland. The story of friendship and faith endures and was a central part of everything we did throughout the month.
Thank you Natalie Wanstrath!!
We are so grateful to you for your generosity!! The outfits really helped us get in the spirit of the day.
Week in Review
We have covered letters A-J, and numbers 1-9 so far and our color review included both English and Spanish.
We also used this week to catch our Early Learners up on the letter Jj and had a chance to do their pre-writing work and jelly bean color sort from the week they missed.
We talked about seasons this week too. We did a graph of our favorite seasons after talking throughout the week about how to identify each one.
The Lions Club completed all vision screenings this week and we will be looking for results to be sent home to you soon.
Finally, we did a lot of show practice this week, making our way down the snowy streets and sidewalks to get to the stage. The snow really made it feel like Christmas!
Elijah Graf is a Star Student!
It was so fun to hear about how much Elijah loves mac-and-cheese. Elijah found out, a lot of his friends love it too. Elijah's favorite animal is a lion. He loves their sharp claws!
On Wednesday, Elijah told us all about his family. He is the big brother in his family and he has to teach him about cleaning-up toys and sharing.
On Friday, Elijah brought in his All About Me Bag. He shared with us his Giraffe that he sleeps with each night, a sweet book about when he was a baby and stories of the Cincinnati Reds games that he goes to with his uncle.
Elijah's grandmother was our guest reader. It was so fun to have her here in our classroom and Elijah was so proud to share one of his favorite stories of friendship with us, Penguin and Pinecone.
