This week
Phew! What a visors for a virus and a hurray for hot dinners kind of week!
It's been a long but enjoyable week. There are lots of children suffering from cold symptoms. Normally this wouldn't be anything to worry about but understandably parents will worry whether to keep children off, get a COVID test or send them into school.
The link below is to a page on the school website. If you scroll down on the page you will see a new downloadable document entitled 'Parents' Guide to Coronavirus and School.' This document has been provided by North Yorkshire Local Authority, will guide you through your child's symptoms and tells you exactly when to bring them to school or keep them off.

Quick Messages
- There is one 30 hour place left in the Stars Class. If you are interested in this place please call school and ask to speak to Mrs Taylor.
- If your child brings home an item belonging to another child, please just bag it up and bring it to school - the teacher will quarantine it before returning it. If you know the child's parents, please do feel free to organise quarantine of the item yourself in a bag and have a word with them to let them know.
- Suncream - if it is hot weather (wishful thinking) please put the long lasting suncream on your child in the morning. The staff are great at seeking shade at playtimes or failing that, taking the children indoors and reminding the children to cover up if they are at risk of burning, but for obvious reasons you wouldn't be routinely applying suncream to the children at the moment. If there was any risk of burning, we would call you and ask you to come and apply some more or simply take the child inside. I apologise for missing this message off the medical matters reopening information sheets - it was there on the information for last term.
- Staff would not usually go rummaging in your child's bag looking for anything you may have sent into school - we are all trying to touch each other and belongings as little as possible. If your child has anything in his or her bag that that you need us to know about please either speak to one of the staff members at the gate (or classroom doors for N/FS/1) or even better to drop an email to the admin staff or call us on the phone. If we are out of the office, the answer phone will pick up a message.
