Rocket Review
Week of October 4, 2019
October is Here!
We have completed a whole month of school already! Progress reports should be available next week in Power School. If you are not able to access Power School, Melissa Roth can help. You will need to pick up your original login information from the Main Office, set up on a desktop or laptop computer with username and password, then you can download the app for Android or Apple to keep you up to date on your child's attendance and grades (3rd-6th only). You will also need a Power School account to receive your child's report card, as they are sent electronically through Power School at the end of each marking period.
Next week is a busy week as we have our 2nd Annual Color Run, and Eisenhower Homecoming to end the week!. Morgan is a feeder school to Eisenhower, which means our Rockets will become Eagles and graduate from Eisenhower High School. To show our support, Morgan is having a Spirit Week. The days are listed further down in the Rocket Review.
Our Color Run fundraiser continues to earn as we head into the last few days. This is Morgan's ONLY fundraiser, IF we meet our goal. All funds earned are returned to our Morgan kids! Our PTO is collecting all of the funds and will report out expenditures as part of their monthly meetings.
Mr. D. has vowed to run in a colorful tutu if we reach $28,000 and Captain America will be running if we hit $28,500. If we reach the $30,000 goal, students can take a handful of color and throw it onto Mrs. Lasky at the end of their running time!
Fall weather is definitely here! Please remind your child to check for their hoodie or jacket as they leave school each day. Our Lost & Found is filling up with lost jackets and hoodies and they lose their owners during recess time.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Lasky
Color Run--October 10
Total so far: $11,900. Let's Meet our Goal!!
We have raised just under $12,000 so far! Let's keep it going! You can donate by sending in a check to Morgan Volunteers PTO or donate online at the Morgan Volunteers PTO web page.
Mr. D. has vowed to run in a colorful tutu if we reach $28,000. Captain America has vowed to run if we reach $28, 500!
Last year, Morgan Elementary raised $30,000 in just under two weeks for our Color Run! Those funds were utilized to purchase robots and iPads for the media center, classroom stipends for additional support materials, field trip transportation, playground equipment (soccer goals, Ga-ga ball), and much more. Due to the success of the fundraiser, this was the ONLY fundraiser for school year.
This year the Morgan Volunteers are looking to surpass the $30,000 goal to provide additional playground equipment, field trip transportation, classroom stipends for teachers, technology support, and much more. Students who raise funds can receive awards and special privileges. Should our Morgan learning community reach the goal of $30,000, this will then be the ONLY fundraiser for this school year! That means no pizza kits, cookie dough, magazine, or bed sheet sales! All the details are in the link below.
Goal: To raise $30,000 or more for Morgan Elementary students!
Why: To fund additional activities and materials for Morgan students, such as: Learning A-Z/Raz Kids, Mystery Science, classroom stipends for support materials, field trip busing costs, assemblies/presenters, Literacy support materials, playground equipment, family fun nights and more!

Eisenhower NHS Tutoring
Parents may register their students by submitting a request located on our website:
http://ikenhs.weebly.com/eagle-tutoring.html.
This will allow us to prepare adequate tutors for each subject matter. We ask that parents complete the form by Sunday night each week in order to allow us to organize the correct number of NHS students.
Their goal is to provide a safe and productive environment for both students needing help and our NHS members offering their service. Additionally, a staff member will be on site every week checking in registered students and monitoring the sessions.
