**Weekly Update** 04/30/21 Vol. 35
Hola Jaguar Families!
Let me first start by saying that first and foremost, it is a privilege to be of service to our Jaguar Family and Community. I am proud to be the Principal at RCLA and honored to serve our families. We have been making significant progress over these past few months and I appreciate the support that you have provided for us. This week we held our 2nd week of In-Person Instruction with our 9th and 12th graders on campus and it was quite pleasant to see our teaching staff, once again in action. Please note that these upcoming weeks in May will be extremely busy, however, you may reach me by cell phone or through email at rpalomo@sjrcla.org
This week, I wanted to spotlight our amazing teacher Ms. Reedboon. She is our US History/Government teacher and the leader on our Restorative Justice/CARE Team. She is also a Senior Advisory teacher who advocates for all students on a continual basis. Ms. Reedboon has a dynamic personality and ability to capture any audience when she is speaking and most importantly when she is instructing. She has an excellent rapport with our Senior Class of 2021 and supports them both inside and outside of the classroom. She often goes by “Ms. T or Tuss” and is highly regarded by both our staff and students. We are appreciative of the contributions that she has made for RCLA and we look forward to hearing many more success stories from our students who have traveled through her classroom. Good Job Ms. T!
Parents- Lastly, please encourage your Jaguar to approach every testing opportunity with their best effort and confidence. Our teachers have been making great strides in the classroom and we would like for our students to demonstrate how much they have academically grown in this last year. Please make every effort to check in with your child regarding upcoming tests or exams. This is an essential part of every student’s academic journey and we look forward to seeing your Jaguar shine. Have a safe weekend Jaguar Familia and please continue to wear your mask as we are hoping to stay ahead of the curve and see everyone back on campus!
Respectfully,
Principal Palomo

Dear Students,
The Santa Clara County COVID-19 Community Ambassador Program (CAP) is hosting its first Youth (ages 14-24) Ambassador Training on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 11:30-1:00pm via Zoom.
WHY
As schools begin to reconvene in person, athletics occur outdoors, graduation and summer approach, and youth ages 16 and up become eligible to be vaccinated, your voice as a youth leader is more important than ever to amplify the importance of vaccination. Our goal is to help the County get 85% of our residents vaccinated so that we can get closer to exiting the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, you will be key in helping your grandparents or others in your community sign up for vaccinations or help them navigate the web to get tested. Through CAP, you will also learn about useful resources to support students’ well-being.
WHAT
As a Youth Ambassador, you will serve as a trusted resource for COVID-19 information to your peers, family, school, and our communities. In this capacity, you will play a key role in informing your networks about COVID-19 to curb the spread of the virus as we continue to vaccinate our residents. The role of an Ambassador is primarily virtual.
