P.S. 188Q Weekly Newsletter
Week of September 19th to 23rd
Happy First Full Week of School
Dear P.S. 188Q Families,
We made it through our first full week of school. I want to thank the parent volunteers for their help at Stop-Drop-and-Go at the Main and Annex. Please continue to follow the rules of the road as you wait and pull away. We will begin this service for PreK on October 3rd.
📣Annex Parents- Please DO NOT park in the parking lot of the ANNEX when you are dropping your child off. We are NOT allowed to park in the parking lot.
📅We will be having "Meet the Teacher" on September 21st. The schedule and links are below for each teacher and cluster. Immediately following the meeting with the teachers, the PTA will have their first meeting. We would like you to join us to learn about what the PTA does for P.S. 188Q and how you can participate.
📝Mrs. Perez-Fung sent home New York City Schools Account (NYCSA) letters to all students. Passwords were sent for those that needed them to be reset. We are sending home letters indicating your child's email address. Students will need to sign in using their DOE email account (ending in nycstudents.net) to access the TeachHub and Google classroom. Please make sure you read each email she sends as they each pertain important information that you or your child will need.
📚Morning Library begins on Monday at the Main Building thanks to funds provided by the PTA. Students can go to the library to work on homework or be in a quiet place to read a book. Mrs. Dykeman will be there each morning from 7:30-8:00 a.m. Monday to Thursday.
🏀Basketball try-outs for any 4th or 5th grade student will take place this week. Mr. Bruno will be conducting the try-outs.
💕9 Days of Love Royals Celebration- Tuesday, September 20th. Please have your student wear their P.S. 188Q school shirt or a blue shirt. We will be meeting together in the morning to celebrate our first 9 days of school and make a commitment to "Dream, Believe and Achieve" this year!
✏The PTA School Store will begin on Monday, September 19th during early arrival in the Main building. Students can visit the school store while they wait to go up to their classroom.
😊Starting September 28, 2022, the P.S. 188Q Snack Shack (formerly known as the "Cookie Store") will be selling snacks for purchase. All items will be $1.00. The Snack Shack will be open most days from 2:00-2:30 p.m. outside the gymnasium.
