Pine Island Parent Press
December 2019
From the Principal's Desk....
This is one of my favorite times of the year! Friends and family gathering together to share in the joy of the Christmas season. December is such a busy month with trying to get your last minute shopping, cooking, and cleaning done to ring in the New Year. Try to take a minute to enjoy your child during this crazy time of year!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our Pine Island Family to Yours!
Penguin Patch Santa Shop
We will have our annual Santa Shop at Pine Island December 11-18. This gives the students a chance to shop for family members on their own. Most items are $5 and under. Information came home and each classroom will have a time to come down and shop.
Any questions, please contact Mrs. Reehl sreehl@cppschools.com Thanks!

Service Projects
Our students did an amazing job collecting during our food drive last month! We have kicked off our 2nd service project... household essentials. This includes toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, deodorant, etc. We will be collecting through January-- these items will be donated to our own families in need.

pcalkins@cppschools.comFlu Season
It's that time of the year again, please listen to your child if they are not feeling well before school. Do not send them if they have a fever, diarrhea, or are vomiting. It makes your child miserable and also exposes their classmates. If you child is too ill to go out for recess, they are too ill to attend school. All students will participate in recess activities.
Battle of the Books
We are starting our 5th year of Battle of the Books here at Pine Island! All grades will be open to participate. This is a great opportunity for your child to read, read, read! More info to be sent home...
