Welcome Back & Meet the Teacher
Please join our fabulous Hawk Community on Monday, August 9th from 9:00-10:00AM for our annual 'Welcome Back Social!'
In order to follow mitigation efforts, we are asking families to stagger their arrival:
- Last names: A-L Meet your teacher and drop supplies between 9am-9:30am
- Last names: M-Z Meet your teacher and drop supplies between 9:30am-10am
We will have multiple entry points for your convenience and to avoid traffic jams while encouraging social distancing. Labeled maps will be provided prior to and at the event.
After you drop supplies in the classroom and meet your teacher, take a peek in our newly renovated library and join PTO. PTO will also be providing Rita's Italian Ice, so head on out back to the bus lane for a cool treat and to check out our awesome DTES Spirit Wear.
This is an optional event. You will be able to drop off supplies in the front office on August 9, from 9:00 - 3:00 PM.

Safe Return to School
Porter
- We will maintain the use of a daily porter to assist with cleaning of high touch surfaces and twice a day room cleanings.
Classroom Set-up
- Where possible, student seating will be arranged to maintain social distancing, and efforts will be made to seat students facing the same direction.
- Assigned seating will assist with contact tracing.
Transitions
- Passing periods are built into the master schedule to minimize grade levels/students in the hallway at any given time.
- Teachers will educate students on the importance of following directional pattern flow in the halls, as well as keeping distance between students while in line.
Lunch
- Only one grade level will eat lunch in the cafeteria at a time.
- Each homeroom class will sit together in assigned rows and seats; tables will be labeled to facilitate assigned seating.
- All tables will face the same direction.
- Two to three students per bench.
Arrival & Dismissal
- We will continue to promote strategies for keeping students with their grade level cohorts prior the start of school For this reason, 1st through 6th graders will line up on the field or in the bus lane with their class upon arrival to school.
To help keep groups separated as much as possible, we will continue to dismiss groups of students and grade levels in staggered intervals
- Please review the Arrival & Dismissal Procedures thoroughly.
Class Lists
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on the first day of school on August 10th!
