what was the change?
scientific revolution
who were three people associated with the change?
Nicolaus Copernicus
He was a polish astronomer,He said that the geocentric model of the universe did not explain the movements of the sun, moon, and the planets. He was studying this problem for 30 long years and finally he came up with another model called the HELIOCENTRIC model, and in the heliocentric model the sun was in the center of the universe.after 2000 years people had more information about the universe and it was true. This made the religious leaders mad at Copernicus because maybe they thought that he was wrong, because they maybe believed that they were always right.
Johannes Kepler
Keplers curiosity lead him into observing the heliocentric model of the universe, and his observation proved that the heliocentric model of the universe was true."Kepler also proposed the three laws of planetary motion based upon his observation" the followings are his three laws of planetary motion:
- "planets move in an elliptical orbit around the sun"
- "planets move more rapidly as their orbits approach the sun"
- "the time it takes a planet to orbit the sun is proportional to its distance from the sun.
Galileio Glilei
Galileio, an Italian math professor who was curious about many of Aristotle's theories, and so he observed them, and he proved that they were wrong."He also tested Aristotle's ideas about pendeulum and found that they were also wrong,he also found objects accelerate at a predictable and fixed rate,He also proved that heavy objects fall at the same rate as lighter ones,Galileio customized the telescope and he was the first to improved it to look in the sky.He used it to study sunspots, the moon's surface and Jupiter's moon.He named the four moon's that he discovered,lo,Ganymede,Callisto, and Europa.
