Background and History
Grand Wood was born near the small town of Anamosa, Iowa, in 1891. His parents were Hattie Weaver and Francis Maryville Wood. He occasionally enrolled in evening drawing classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Art movements and his contribution and accomplishments
After the exhibition of American Gothic, Wood became the leader of American Regionalism. He was in vied to contribute paintings to many art exhibitions and to be a director for several national art programs. His main inspiration was the countryside.
This is one of his most well known pieces. I like how realistic it is.
