Once we have nominees, a committee will determine the book award winners and will invite these students to Honors Night where they will receive their awards.

AP Psychology Experiments
Hello Raider Psychology Fans,
Starting March 7th our AP Psychology students will study the terms and concepts that revolve around the discipline of Social Psychology. As part of their work within the unit, we have asked them to complete a social experiment. In the spirit of differentiation (by process!!!) they can choose to step outside the social norms or perform random acts of kindness. While they have the option to do this at any public place, some students might try to run their experiments at school. The students have been instructed to follow school and district policies, maintain compliance with the dress code, and respect other students and adults in the building. If any student does something that is disruptive to your classroom environment, please let us know.
Some examples provided from the teachers that designed this activity are:
1. Standing up in class to answer a question, rather than just raising a hand
2. Dressing “preppy” and shopping in a “punk store” or vice versa
3. You may remember a few years ago, a very brave young man wore a dress to school
4. Anonymously showering you with small tokens of appreciation for all your hard work and dedication.
Students have been advised not to “run an experiment” in the cafeteria. They are aware that we are sending out a faculty email and that there are consequences for going against the rules of the assignment.
After their “experiments” students must write a reflective essay on their experiences. The students will only be doing their experiments for a day or so. At any time, you reserve the right to stop them.
Please let us know if you object to this assignment. We wanted to give everyone a heads up to this activity, as some students might be acting a bit out of character. The Social Norms and Random Acts of Kindness activities will be completed by March 21st.
