Discover U, Discover Learning!

January 2018 Nurture*Inspire*Empower

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." - Walt Disney

Our Mission is to provide a school that works for all students: academically-socially-emotionally.

Our vision is to be the most student-centered school working to nurture, inspire, and empower our learners so that they become strong, successful individuals with 21st century skills. We define 21st century skills as being a critical thinker/problem solver, empowered, collaborative, curious, innovative, and resilient.

As Explorers We Are...

Respectful, Kind, Proactive, Courageous

Critical Thinkers, Collaborative, Curious, Creative, Empowered, Resilient

Discover U Proudly Supports a Uniform Policy

We know that it is starting to get chilly out. Even with the chilly temperatures Discover U still proudly supports a uniform policy.

The Discover U uniform shirt or sweater and khaki colored bottoms completes our dress code Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, students are allowed to wear denim bottoms with their uniform shirt. This is optional, of course. If the student is not wearing denim bottoms with their uniform shirt, then the expectation is that the student is in the school uniform.

Shirts and sweaters are for sale in the front office. Please call if you have any questions 623-974-4827.

Discover U Parent Association (PTO)

Discover U's parent association meets the second Monday of every month at 5:30pm. Together with the school they are working to raise money for teachers, the campus, and increase parent volunteers.

In December we had a great turn out at our Dine Out Night at Chipotle. With the help of all of our Discover U families and friends we raised $203.30!! Thank you for your support!!!

On January 16th we will be having another Discover U Dine's Out at Peter Piper Pizza in Surprise from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. We can't wait to see you all there.

The Discover U PTO would like to try and have a Spring Fling event in April. However, this depends on if we can get enough volunteers. If you would be interested in volunteering on a Saturday in April please fill out the Google Form below.

We would love to have more parents join us at our meetings. Our next meeting is February 12th from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the Learning Lounge.
