Principal's message - week 10
Greetings North Plains Families!
A few things for you this week. First, please remember to get your tee-shirt orders in by next Friday so I can get them sent off. It will be fun seeing all the Hawk Pride around here!
Our Harvest Festival is set for the 27th of Oct. and many volunteers are needed! A sign up genius link will come out soon.
We are still in need of spare clothes for children that may need some for whatever reason. This includes underwear and socks! If you have any lightly used clothing, and/or would be willing to donate some new underwear or socks, these would be greatly appreciated. Please remember we have kids up to 13 years old and not small anymore:)
I received an email from the Glencoe HS principal this week asking me to remind you that if your children are attending high school football games, they do need to be supervised by an adult. Apparently some parents are dropping off their kids and coming back later to pick them up and that is causing some problems, so be sure there is adequate supervision for your child at the game.
Right brain is coming soon! We have artist Karie Oakes scheduled to come in the weeks of Oct. 23 (also book fair week) and Nov. 13 to create pottery creations tying to social studies standards. We need at least 2 parent volunteers for every class, so please watch for a sign up genius link soon to volunteer. The schedule is as follows:
Monday: 8 - 9:15 Job
9:55 - 11:10 Underhill
11:35 - 12:35 Monahan
12:45 - 2 Schwartz
Tuesday: 8 - 9:15 Gale
9:25 - 11:40 Smith
12:30 - 1:45 Richter
Thursday 8 - 9:15 Ravins
9:55 - 11:10 Phipps
11:35 - 12:35 McClure
12:45 - 2 Chronister
Friday 8 - 9 Debolt
9:45 - 11 McDowall
Finally, it has come to my attention that some students are buying and selling things at school, primarily in grades 5 and 6, but it could be happening at lower grades too. I'm in the process of talking with the students in these classes directly, but couldn't get to all of them today. If you could please have a conversation with your child it would be helpful. Thank you!
Have an awesome weekend!
Becky
