Las Virgenes Center EdX Graduates First Class of Administrators
In November 2017, the Las Virgenes Unified School District became the first district in the state of California to be accredited for three teacher and administrator licensure programs. While most licensure programs reside in state universities, LVUSD formed the Center for Educational Excellence as a new model to provide practical, relevant, and job-embedded preparation for future teachers and administrators. In one year, the three credential programs have enrolled approximately 100 teacher and administrator candidates. In January, the first class of administrator credential candidates graduated from two of LVUSD’s preparation programs.
