Ask for Help: Don't Cheat!
Copying code that you did not write without giving credit to the author is plagiarism! Coding can be frustrating, especially when you can't get your program to work. What can you do? Please email me. I am here to help you. The best thing to do is to provide me with your code along with all error messages. I will help you solve the problem using your own logic. This way you will best prepare you for the tests and quizzes. Students who turn in plagiarized work rarely pass tests and quizzes.
String and Math Quiz - Check email every day
Check your email for instructions about the String Quiz and Math Quiz. You have an opportunity to improve your grade! GAVS expectation is for you to check your email every day. You may miss out on opportunities if you ignore your inbox.
Watch for 1% Grades
A 1% usually means your submission needs revision before I grade it. Check these weekly. If you don't make the changes within a week, I will grade the submission as is. Once graded, you cannot submit the revisions for credit.
5 Steps to a 5
Download the new syllabus to include readings from 5 Steps to a 5 etext. This is a great review book that we have access to. Now you don't have to spend any money on review books! The pacing is set to have you complete the book by the AP Exam date in May.
Help Videos
In addition to class recording, you can find help videos for assignments in the news feed. Be sure to watch these videos before submitting your assignments!
Office Hours
Take advantage of AP CS group office hours. The schedule with links can be found by clicking the bar below. The schedule is also available at the bottom of the news items on the course homepage. If you can't attend the live session, please email me questions and then view the recording. You may also find historical recordings to be helpful. These can be found in the "links" widget in BrightSpace.
