PI Bowling
We have some exciting news for you with this week's athletic updates!
The Adapted Bowling season has ended, with several Hawks earning post-season honors!
9th grader Beyonce Cruz-Duron placed 4th in the Girls Singles Tournament
11th grader Asher Vieau took 5th place in the Girls Singles Tournament
11th grader Marshall Buck took 4th place in the Boys Singles Tournament.
Congratulations to the Bowling team on their accomplishments this season!
Badminton
The Badminton team will have one final conference match prior to the start of their State Tournament. The Hawks will play against Central on the road (At Washington) Tomorrow, 5/17 at 4:00 PM. The Hawks are still searching for that first conference victory, and this would be a great time to find it. They will play in the Badminton State tournament later this week at Eden Prairie High School.
Softball
The Softball team won a nailbiter of a game against Johnson on Thursday afternoon by a score of 23-22. This win moves the Hawks to 2-3 on the season in conference play, and to 5th place overall in the City Conference. They have an important week as well, with their section meeting being held this Tuesday. This meeting will determine where the Hawks will fall in post-season play. No matter what seed the Hawks receive in section play, they have one remaining non-conference game scheduled for This Friday against Blake High School. The game will be held at Blake at 4:00 PM.
Boys Tennis
The Boys Tennis team is coming off of a great conference victory over Washington on Friday, defeating the Eagles by a score of 4-3. This victory marks the first on the Hawks' season in conference play! They enter post-season play this week against crosstown rival, Saint Paul Academy. This game will be held at SPA on Wednesday 5/18 and begin at 4:00 PM. Goodluck Hawks!!
Track and Field
The track team had a tough outing last Thursday but had a great mindset, and are gearing up for their post-season. With multiple runners starting to earn new PR's, the Hawks look primed to earn some post-season glory. The next track meet for the Varsity team won't be until next week, which gives both the Male and Female Hawk runners a great training window to prepare themselves.
Baseball
The Baseball team dropped a close match with Nova Classical Academy on Friday evening. After trading the lead several times, the hawks were unable to pull ahead in the waning moments of the game. Luckily for the Hawks, they will have another shot at the Knights of Nova Classical This Friday on the Humboldt Baseball diamond. Be sure to come out and cheer them on! Additionally, the Hawks will have a very special game at CHS Field, home of the Saint Paul Saints THIS AFTERNOON! Watch for an individual follow up email related to this game this afternoon.
PI Softball
Boys and Girls Golf
The Boys Golf team had a great outing on Friday, with senior Elliott McNally shooting a 95 on the round! Another notable performance came from Senior Kyaw Htway who's been steadily improving throughout the year. This is a big week for the boys as they prepare for the conference tournament. They will face Harding in a City Conference Showdown Tomorrow, at the Phalen golf Course. The Hawks will tee off at 3:30 PM. The Girls team had a tough conference match against Central last week, however they will be looking to respond positively in their matches this week. The Girls will take on Como Park This Wednesday at the Cedarholm Golf Course. The match will begin at 3:30 PM.
Boys Volleyball
The Boys Volleyball had a wonderful first game in their home gymnasium against Benilde St.-Margarets. The Hawks defeated the Red Knights handily, and Senior April Wah was a dominant reason as to why. This week, the Hawks will take on another Private Schoo, but the motto "better dead than red" still stands as the Hawks will face off with the Redhawks of Minnehaha Academy on Tuesday 5/17 at home. Tickets will be sold with adults going for $5 and Students going for $3. Go Hawks!
