Finally the school decision has been made!
Here at the Intermediate we are delighted that we now have a way forward and staff have certainty over options moving in to the future.
Our Year 7 students are currently designing the logo for our new 2022 sweatshirt - a very authentic project creating exciting designs.
As students enrol for next year they are trying on sweatshirts for sizing. Students within school will do the same. It is hoped that 2022, Year 8 students will wear our new school sweatshirt with black leggings/ shorts and will welcome in new students at our Powhiri on February 2nd, 2022.
Transition visits are currently happening for in- coming students, our Senior Staff and Councilors have and are heading out to the Primary Schools with councilors answering student questions whilst senior staff talk with teachers.
We have planned visits for new entrants coming in to the school.
Shortly visits to the high school begin and we welcome High School staff to our grounds to meet students on site.
We aim for smooth transitions for both year groups.
From now till the end of the year we have numerous activities planned, please watch the Calendar for Events. Alongside this we have business as usual in classrooms as teachers and students work to reach curriculum expectations by the year's end.
Our camps were all hugely successful with many exciting Education Outside the Classroom events undertaken and many new experienced.
A massive amount of work went into the organization of camps and teachers are to be commended for their work in this area. All camps needed support from learning assistants and to parent volunteers who travelled with us - we do thank you.
Administrative staff are now sorting payment and reconciling the same. Due to COVID Alert Levels we have been unable to carry out fundraising to meet our $14,000 target so are looking at innovative ways to try to recoup some of this loss.
Regardless, our kids have had some amazing experiences and it has been so nice to have seen them being able to participate in the camp of their choice.
The term as always looks to be an actioned packed one , students are currently involved in athletics training and we have "SWOOSH" Basketball tutors here on site as well.
It has been a big week with the Minister's announcement , we look forward positively to the future.

Financial support for struggling families
If you know any families needing help with putting food or kai on the table or paying an overdue bill, support may be available from the Ministry of Social Development.
Understanding this is an expensive time of year for families, income limits for hardship assistance have been increased from 1 November 2021 until 28 February 2022.
If you know of any families finding things tough financially, Work and Income have an online check what you might get guide, which will have the new limits updated from today Monday 1 November.
You’ll need to answer some simple questions about your situation, then Work and Income will let you know if there are any payments you can get. It only takes about five minutes to check what you might get, and you don’t need to be getting a benefit to be eligible.
Your answers are completely confidential, and they won’t be saved or used in any way. Alternatively, call 0800 559 009.
