St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 8 | 24 MARCH 2023

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
Harmony Week was celebrated this week. A big thank you to all the staff and students for making the effort to dress in their traditional clothing or simply wearing orange to celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity and how all of our differences make Australia a great place to live. It is so lovely to be part of a multicultural community who love to celebrate their culture. The amazing Mrs Manov organised some wonderful activities for students to participate in, including asking the question like ‘how many languages can you speak?’ The answers gave a great insight into our student's knowledge and understanding of various cultures.
This Saturday, March 25 is the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, when the Church celebrates Mary’s “yes” to the call of God. We celebrate the Virgin Mary’s humility, obedience and especially her courage to take on the role of motherhood.
Last Friday, our P&F organised their first ‘Dad’s Camp Out’. The excitement from the students about ‘sleeping over’ at the school was great to hear and many said it was the best night ever, although I’m not sure how much sleep was had! Thank you to Peter Jenkins and team for providing a fantastic ‘friendbuilding’ event!
After a very successful Swimming Carnival last week, Mrs Clarkson took a small group of swimmers to participated in the Interschool Swimming Carnival on Thursday. Our students joined with St John Paul II CPS to form a very competitive team that proudly represented their schools. To all our students, congratulations on achieving some wonderful results and representing our school with enthusiasm and great sportsmanship. Thank you to Mrs Clarkson and Mrs Dimond for organising and accompanying our students to this exciting event!
A reminder to all families that no students should be at school before 8:15am. If a student arrives earlier, they will need to be supervised outside the Admin building. Please do not wait outside the classroom doors. Additionally, I would also like to ask that all parents wait outside the Admin building, not at the top of the stairs, at the end of the day NO EARLIER than 2:40pm, this includes parking in the Kiss and Drive.
Please keep in your thoughts and prayers our Year 6 students who will be attending the Commitment Mass this weekend as part of their preparation for the Sacraments of Confirmation.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Rebecca Clarke
Principal

Parent Survey
Have your say! As part of our three-year journey with the Fogarty EDvance Team, we will start by asking our parent community to complete a survey, as part of our reflective practice and feedback data. I ask that you please take 5 minutes to complete the anonymous survey, as the more feedback we have, the more we can meet the needs of our school community. The survey will close next Thursday, 30 March.
