A Message from the Principal
Hello Indian Trail Families,
Happy April! A lot is happening as we move through Spring time at Indian Trail. I want to highlight a few events for our families:
Indian Trail Coaching Reveal/Athletics Meeting/Club Meeting
- May 11th @ 6 pm Gym/Auditorium
- Information about athletic teams for ITMS will be provided
- Meet the new coaching staff at Indian Trail Middle School
- All students interested in athletics next year are encouraged to attend
- Club sponsors will be available to answer questions
Indian Trail Middle School Open House
- May 11th @ 7pm in the auditorium
- For returning/new Indian Trail families
- This will include a brief welcome and introductions
- Teachers have not been assigned classrooms so there will be no visits to the halls
- A more thorough open house will take place in August
Dance & Cheer Tryouts
- Dance tryouts are tentatively set for April 25-27 (clinic) and April 28 (tryouts)
- Cheer tryouts are set for May 4 & 5 (clinic) May 6 (tryouts) at SHHS
6th Grade Honors Celebrations
- Tuesday, May 24, 2022 @ 6:00 pm Indian Trail Auditorium

5th Grade
- Our 5th grade celebrations are low key and informal
- Recognitions are done by individual teams and all students attend
- Celebrations are done during the day
- Parents are invited to attend
6th Grade
- This has traditionally been a formal celebration
- Parents and students will receive an invite if their child has been selected for an award by teachers
- Our 6th grade celebration is on May 24th at 6pm in the auditorium
Bridge to Learning Camp 2022
Current Grade Levels: 5th-7th grade
Dates: June 1st-28th
Location: Liberty Bell Middle School
Deadline: Friday, April 15th
*Applications and Summer Bus forms are located in the front office. A new bus form must be filled out for Summer School transportation. For any questions about Bridge to Learning Camp, please call the office at 423-610-6000.
Field Day Sponsors Needed
ITIS Talent Show
We’re excited to announce the ITIS SPRING TALENT SHOW!
Auditions will be held during related arts classes on Friday, May 6th. Applications for auditions are available now from Ms. Edmisten (Theatre), Dr. Lyons (STEM), or in the ITIS main office! All 5th and 6th students are encouraged to get involved!! Auditions forms are due by May 2nd. Talent show is May 19th or 20th (weather dependent).
Middle School Cheerleading Tryouts
Indian Trail Middle School Cheer Clinic and Tryouts for the 2022-23 School Year will be held at Science Hill High School May 4 – 6. The squad requirement packet will be available beginning April 6 during the student cheerleading interest meeting on April 6 at 2:15 p.m. Students must have a current sports physical dated after April 15, 2021, to participate in clinics and tryouts and is valid through July 2022 OR a sports physical dated after April 15, 2022 that will be valid through the 2022-23 school year. A mandatory parent/student meeting will be held at ITIS April 12 at 5:30 p.m. All students that intend to tryout for ITMS Cheerleading are required to attend this meeting with a parent. The ITMS Cheerleading Squad Packet is due to the ITMS Office no later than Friday, April 22. An activity bus will be available to transport students to Science Hill for clinics and tryouts May 4-6 beginning at 3:30. Parents should pick up students at the SHHS auxiliary gym.
