Counseling Corner
There are many things we as parents and teachers can do to help children learn, grow and thrive, including getting enough sleep, healthy eating, limited screen time and PLAY! But play isn’t all fun and games — it’s also an important teaching tool! Through play, kids learn how to interact with others and develop critical lifelong skills. These 6 benefits of play have an important role in raising well-rounded children.
And what about SCREENS and SLEEP? If you haven't had a chance to watch the documentary "Screenagers: Next Chapter" there are still screenings in our area including one more in Highlands Ranch on March 23rd. You can also review the research and resources here from both Screenagers: Growing up in the Digital Age and Screenagers: Next Chapter. Start by reviewing these suggested rules for screens and sleep from other parents. It's never too early (or too late) to start creating healthy screen and sleep habits with your family.
