Celebrations
Congratulations to Ivette Maldonado! She won the Aramark Food Service drawing and received a free bicycle!
Thank You to PTO and the Hospitality Chair, Misti Wilson, for providing the staff a yummy catered lunch on the 12th!
Thank you to Cuitlahuac Ortiz and daughter Xhunaxhii owners of Mi Trova music school for performing at our Multicultural Day.
Mott students were fortunate enough to hear two band concerts this week! The 1st Cavalry Division Band performed on Tuesday morning, and the Cele Middle School Jazz Band performed on Wednesday afternoon.
Mott students had so much fun this week! Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the Mott News to see the pictures.
The Importance of Reading Over the Winter Break
Learning should not stop when the bell rings for winter break. Here are just a few reasons that students should read every day the next two weeks:
- It helps keep kids on track, retain basic skills, and practice good habits of reading.
- Changes in routine can be stressful for children. Reading a good book allows kids to take a break from reality -- they can head out on an adventure to a faraway place for a little while!
- Reading Will Make You A Better Writer.
- The more students read the more words in their vocabulary.
Don't have enough books at home? No problem. Here is a link to a list on online reading resources.
