Welcome new Woodcrest principal

Woodcrest families,
Since I last communicated with you in early April, we’ve been busy. We conducted a search for the Woodcrest principal role and met several strong candidates. Today, I am very happy to welcome Jaime Nymann to Spring Lake Park Schools and her new role as principal of Woodcrest.
Jaime joins us from Adams Spanish Immersion School in St. Paul where she has been assistant principal since 2019. In her 22-year career, she has been an English as a Second Language teacher, a bilingual classroom teacher, an instructional coach and curriculum coordinator before becoming an assistant principal. Her teaching experience spans elementary, middle school, high school and adults.
The breadth and depth of Jaime’s experiences in immersion settings are impressive and will be a true asset to Woodcrest and to Spring Lake Park Schools. She is particularly excited to pair her immersion background with our approach to personalized learning.
Jaime has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, a Master's degree from Hamline University and her Ed.S. and administrative license from Minnesota State University - Mankato. In addition to her passion for education, Jaime enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, running and planning her next travel adventure.
I am grateful to John Franke for his leadership of Woodcrest over the past two years. He has demonstrated tremendous commitment to Woodcrest staff and students with each challenge presented during this unique time.
Next school year, John will be principal on special assignment providing leadership for our multilingual learning opportunities across PreK-12. John has been a teacher of English language learners, an associate principal at the high school, and interim principal of Woodcrest Spanish Immersion. This background and set of experiences position him well to provide leadership and vision for our multilingual learning opportunities.
These leadership transitions will be effective July 1. In the meantime, we will be working with Jaime to see if we can find a time to have her come to Woodcrest to meet and visit with staff and students before the end of the school year. Watch for opportunities later this summer to meet and get to know Jaime.
Thank you for your continued support of Woodcrest and Spring Lake Park Schools. I hope you enjoy these last days of the school year and the summer ahead.
Sincerely,
Jeff Ronneberg, Ed. D.
Superintendent
