A Message from the Administrative Team
Dear WJHS families,
We started the new semester this week we are also beginning to make plans for the end of the school year (I know, I know...it seems like so far away but it will be here in the blink of an eye!). As eighth grade parents know, schools are definitely preparing for 2023-2024 as they are receiving New Trier placement recommendations this week and next, and families will meet with New Trier counselors on February 14 and 16. Eighth grade parents: if you would like more information on the matriculation process with New Trier, please see below and check out the Incoming Freshman page for contact information. WJHS will be sending more information soon as we finalize plans for graduation and other end-of-the-year activities.
Stay warm and enjoy the balmy weather headed our way!
Sincerely,
Kate, Jeff and Eric

New Trier Placement Letters
New Trier sent placement recommendations in the U.S. mail late this week. This means some of you will receive the envelope on Friday or Saturday and some might not receive it until Monday, February 6. New Trier asks families to wait until Friday morning, February 10, to call if you do not receive the envelope. On Friday they will gladly email families the information that is in the packet. New Trier has approximately 75 families that have not completed their PowerSchool enrollment so they will not receive their student’s test scores and recommendations until they have completed the required forms.
P.E. Electives came to a close this week - check out the rock climbers!

This year’s topic is “A Culture of Connectedness: An Empathic and Inclusive Community for Neurodivergent Students."
The Committee is asking families to complete this short survey to help us learn about parent understanding of neurodiversity and how teachers and staff can best partner with families to create an equitable learning environment for neurodivergent students across all grade levels. Thank you for your participation.
