On Tuesday, January 7, our council voted to approve the above recommendation. Thank you to those who provided feedback.
For calendar purposes:
March 24 - FCS digital learning day
April 21 - CMS students WILL attend school
May 19 - CMS digital learning day
AVID tutors needed
Our AVID elective class is in need of tutors! AVID is a 7th grade connections class for motivated students who are focused on high achievement in all their academic courses. You DO NOT need to be an expert in 7th grade curriculum. You just need to be willing to learn the AVID tutorial process and have a desire to help students succeed. The bonds built between tutors and students are so meaningful and rewarding for all. This is a paid position and training is provided. There is a small fee for fingerprinting and badging for adult tutors.
High school students currently enrolled in a Fulton County school, do not need to be fingerprinted. Adults are paid $15/hr and high school students are paid $10/hr. Tutorials take place every Tuesday and Thursday during 1st (9 am-9:42 am) and 7th (2:20-3:10 pm) periods. Right now we are in need of 1 more tutor for our 1st period class and 2 more tutors for our 7th period class. This is a semester long commitment. Current college students will be paid the adult rate.
If you are interested, please contact Maggie Nelms at nelmsmr@fultonschools.org. Thank you!
