Week 35 News
5/9/16-5/13/16
happy mother's day to all of our SUPERMOMS! Hope you enjoyed the surprise gift from the students and are having a FABULOUS weekend!
Thank you!
Only 4 more weeks of school!
Time has flown by and our kindergartners will soon become first graders! Every year around this time, I reflect back on how much students have grown...from
not speaking/speaking minimal Chinese to conversing with me in Chinese! Each student has come so far in his/her own unique way and I'm so proud of all their accomplishments. :)

5/11 Ms. Kang to Accompany Students on Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Field Trip
Unfortunately, I have school business and a training that conflict with our Cabrillo Marine Aquarium field trip on 5/11. I have discussed this matter with Ms. Apodaca and Ms. Kang accompany the class on their field trip. Ms. June Kiesel (our teacher's aide whom our students are familiar with) will also be accompanying the students in addition to two parent chaperones from our class. Ms. Fu's class will also be on the same field trip. I will be preparing the students for this, so they understand what to expect. I completely understand if this change would alter how you feel about your child attending the field trip. If so, please feel free to submit a new permission slip. Students who do not go on the field trip will be placed in another kinder class for the day.

Khan Academy (OPTIONAL)
As a supplemental resource, I will be assigning Math work from khanacademy.org. This is a wonderful resource for students who would like more practice with the concepts taught at school or would like more challenging Math work.
The website adapts the questions based on each child's level. The more questions students answer correctly, the harder the problems will get. The program will also make problems easier if students are struggling with correctly answering the problems.
Please see below on how to sign up. This information will also be posted on our class site under "Parent Resources".
- Sign up at khanacademy.org (or log in with their existing accounts)
- Visit khanacademy.org/coaches
- There, in the "Add a coach" field, enter the class code XEEF4D
