Introduction
The Musky-Rat-Kangaroo is a little rat like kangaroo that lives in the dampest parts of the Daintree rainforest.
Apparence
The Musky Rat Kangaroo has a rich brown body with a grey- brown coloured head. The Musky Rat Kangaroo's are masupials which means they have a pouch.The Musky Rat Kangaroo has a dark brown tail covered with scales. Musky Rat Kangaroos travel is a slow "bunny hop" movement.
Habitat
The Daintree rainforest is home to the Musky Rat Kangaroo. Musky rat kangaroos are generally found in the dampest parts of the rainforest especially near creeks or rivers. Altough mainly ground dwellers Musky Rat Kangaroos have a toe on their hind foot to climb up branches or trees.
Diet
The Musky Rat Kangaroo feeds on primary seeds and fruits it also feeds on worms and insects. Musky Rat Kangaroos are omivorous.Musky Rat Kangaroos start to look for food at late dawn.
Reprodution
Musky Rat Kangaroos have a short pouch life which offen leads to making more than one baby a year. Their breeding season starts in Feb and ends in July. Male Musky Rat Kangaroos are slightly larger than the female. Musky Rat Kangaroos are continuous breeders.
