A Peek at our Week...

~This week we finished reading The Drinking Gourd. Tomorrow the students will watch the Follow The Drinking Gourd video. I think the students really enjoyed this unit of study. Up next...Wild Weather!

~We took a quiz at the beginning of the week covering money, the students did great! Continue to have your child count change and make change.

~Due to having studied measurement at the beginning of the year, our time with measuring in inches will be short. I feel the students have a good grasp of measurement. After Spring Break we will move on to time, shapes, and fractions.

March Madness Tournament of Books!!

We have a winner!! On Wednesday, all of second grade convened in the library. Mrs. Carlson read to us the books that made it to the finals in our tournament of books. The students voted and the winner is....The Books With No Pictures!! Ask your students to tell you a little about this book. It is certainly funny. Ask them to tell you some of their other favorites from the tournament!

This week the students shared the facts they learned about the famous person they researched...

Spring Break Reminders...

~Please have your child bring in an artifact from their favorite restaurant.

~READO is a fun to keep your child reading this Spring Break.

~Whether traveling far or staying at home, your child is invited to fill out the Travel Journal, sent home today, to document Spring Break adventures!

~Have fun!!!
