A Message from our Superintendent
Dear Galena Park I.S.D. Students, Parents and Guardians,
My prayer is for you to be reading this weekly Newsletter in the best of health, surrounded by healthy and content loved ones. For several weeks now, we have stayed in our homes and followed the Stay Home, Work Safe order proclaimed by our local authorities, and I certainly hope our combined efforts are working to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our area.
By now, you should have received and familiarized yourselves with our new Spring 2020 semester grading guidelines, as well as information regarding GPA calculations and transcripts for high school students. Please know, we are especially mindful of supporting our students' emotional, as well as academic, needs, and are considering all aspects of our current situation while thoughtfully considering guidelines to shepherd us through this challenging time.
As always, I remain grateful for your continued support of Galena Park I.S.D. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and know we miss our students and families greatly. We look forward to the day this pandemic is behind us and we can all be together again.
Sincerely,
Angi M. Williams, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES
As parents, we are often faced with the very difficult challenge of reassuring our children during times of stress, while acknowledging that bad things can and do happen in this world. This is the challenge we are now confronted with during the COVID-19 pandemic. How do we help our children navigate these new and unfamiliar circumstances while ensuring we are being honest about the reality of the situation?
