Remote Learning: How is ACS Handling It?
Bedtime in a Box, Books, & Bags of Food!
Our partners make such a difference for our school community! Although we aren't physically in the same space each week doesn't mean we can't work together to provide for our families! This past week, we were able to work with Bedtime in a Box to get all of our Kindergarteners a special treat: new PJs, everything needed for a perfect bath time routine, books, and some learning supplies! Our kiddos have been too excited:
"Cheryl was so excited about her box, she asked to take a bath at 1 pm this afternoon!"
-- Mom of one of our Kinder students
Books
We've loved all of the FREE resources for reading online: EPIC books has been especially great! But, we believe in the power of a book in your hand (especially when you're younger). So, we've purchased a book for each student; the Principals hand picked a book for each individual child! And, we will continue doing this through the end of the year...that way, at the end of the school year, students will have a small library in their home!
Bags of Food
As a school, we focus on the whole child, whole family, whole community. And, during this time, we believe that we MUST focus on support with basic needs. Therefore, each week, we send home bags of non-perishable groceries, fresh foods, and sometimes food gift cards. Families can come back for more each week...no questions asked! If you are in need of this type of support, please reach out to Ashley Williamson (information at the very bottom of the page)!
