Welcome to 4th Grade

Mrs. Lapsley's Class

I am so excited to have you in my 4th grade class at Eisenberg for the 2013-2014 school year. You can use this app to get yourself prepared for the year.

Supplies You Will Need for 4th Grade

Please come to school prepared with these supplies every day:

  • Smartphone (yes, they will be used in school! If you don't have one, DON'T WORRY! I will have a computer for you to use.)
  • 2 composition notebooks (no spiral-bound)
  • Pencils
  • Scissors (kid-friendly)
  • Homework folder (the plastic ones are more durable and will last you through the year. Do not buy paper folders.)
  • Gluesticks (3-pack)
  • Erasers
  • Crayons or Colored Pencils
  • Personal Pencil Sharpener
  • Pencil Box (you can not keep supplies in your desk without a pencil box!)
  • Backpack

You can purchase these materials at any store, but I recommend Wal-Mart, the Dollar Store, or Target for the best prices.

Connect to the Classroom Through Text

Over the course of the school year, you will be receiving important reminders and messages from me via text message. Don't worry--I will not see your phone number, nor will you see mine. Please follow the instructions below to sign up to receive text alerts. (Parents can, and should, join, too!) We will go over these directions on the first day of school, so bring your Smartphone on the first day!

After you send @lapsley14 to 302-261-3423, you will receive a Welcome Message. Type in your full name and send it. You or your parents will be added to the roster to begin receiving texts from me. Texts might be a reminder, important message, or link to important materials online. It is important that each student is signed up to ensure everyone receives these messages.

About Your Teacher

My name is Mrs. Lapsley, and I will be your teacher for the 2013-2014 school year! When I was in school, I was always curious to know about my teacher outside of school, so I will share a bit about myself with you.

Many of you know me as a first grade teacher at Eisenberg, but before I came to the 'Berg, I taught 4th grade at Wilmington Manor. I am happy to be back in 4th grade--and to see many familiar names on the class list! Some of you were first graders in my class when I first came to Eisenberg!

At home Mr. Lapsley and I have two dogs, Lily and Leroy. Lily is a black Pomeranian, and Leroy is a black and white Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. I also have three cats: two grey cats names Daisy and Jada, and a black and white cat named Bella.

When I am not in school, I like to take photographs, read, and go to the pool at my mom's house. I also enjoy running and going to Crossfit.
