Information for Halloween
We are saddened to announce that we will not allow Halloween costumes in schools this year for students or staff. We will also be unable to hold a Halloween parade as we have in the past at the elementary school. With social distancing measures and limits on gatherings, this decision was made in the best interest of keeping our students and staff healthy.
We do invite all of our students and staff to dress in fall colors on Friday, October 30 to celebrate the season. Colors such as brown, yellow, orange, and black are all welcome. We are also working to coordinate some other activities throughout the last week of October and will share more as we get closer.
Thanks for your continued cooperation and patience as we work toward keeping everyone safe.

Wayne County Launches Virtual Academic Support Program
Wayne County Maximizing Out of School Time (MOST) is a community outreach resource for students and families to help support academics during this challenging time.
This virtual academic support program operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4-7 pm. There is no charge for using this resource. It is staffed with teacher and high school student volunteers. In additional to academic support, they also can provide assistance with basic technology issues.
This is a great option to use instead of waiting until the next opportunity to connect with classroom teachers. For more information, visit the Wayne County Most website.

A Note from Mrs. Gross - Red Ribbon Week
Middle School is the age when some young people may start experimenting with alcohol and vaping. Even if they have not started yet they may be receiving pressure to try illegal substances. Act now. Let your child know your views on the subject. It’s not easy but kids will listen. Study after study shows that even when children are teens, parents have a huge influence on their behavior. Most people this age do not drink or smoke and parents disapproval is a key reason they chose not to.
Quick facts:
You have more influence on your child’s values and decisions about drinking before he or she begins to use alcohol.
Parents can have a major impact on their children’s drinking, especially during the preteen and early teen years.
A great resource for parents is GROWING UP DRUG-FREE A PARENT’S GUIDE TO PREVENTION
