Standards Mastery iReady Assessment - Grades 3-5 Only
This is a reminder that Reading Standards Mastery assessments will appear on student dashboards in iReady on the dates below.
Grade 3: Standards Mastery iReady Assessment November 26th - November 30th, 2018 (focus on 3.2 and 3.3)
Grade 4: Standards Mastery iReady Assessment December 3-7, 2018 (focus on 4.1 and 4.2)
Grade 5: Standards Mastery iReady Assessment November 26th - November 30th, 2018 (focus on 5.2 and 5.3)
Students must complete this assessment prior to continuing any online instruction. Two standards are being assessed in each grade level and iReady expects this should take students approximately 30 minutes.
Here is a resource from iReady that explains standards mastery and provides additional resources for using these results to inform our practice.

BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
This YouTube video was provided by M.D. Stetson, a Framingham Public Schools vendor for custodial supplies. The District is sharing this video on behalf of the Buildings and Grounds Department as a means to educate school staff on the standardized cleaning process being implemented to clean each and every classroom.
There are a number of ways in which school staff, mainly teachers, can assist our Custodians by preparing the room for daily cleaning. Buildings and Grounds will be doing a roadshow of sorts by attending on of our Staff Meetings (we will adjust the book study groups). Because our B&G folks will be referencing this video, it would be helpful for staff to see it prior to the meeting.
ELEMENTARY LUNCH PHOTOS
Raquel from food services has created a photo collection to help our students decide what they would like to order, especially if there are any language barriers. There are one or two missing, but she will be adding on as the year goes on and food services puts out more menus/new recipes.
This picture tool is optional but could be a great service to classrooms early in the morning trying to explain what the lunch is/what comes with the lunch. She will forward a revised version once she gets a few more, but this is a great start.
Thank you for your help in generating more accurate meal counts. Hopefully these pictures will help reduce the number of changes at the serving line.
Please click on this LINK to access the photos.
sage referrals
The goal for Sage referrals for students currently in grades 2-5 is November 30th. All students referred by this date, (assuming no extenuating circumstances), will be screened this school year. All grade 2-5 referrals coming in after November 30th will be screened this year as time permits If there is a student in your class you feel might benefit from Sage services, please do not hesitate to fill out a referral form. Attached is an editable form here. There are also blank forms in Leigh's mailbox if that is easier for you. Also included is a helpful checklist to identify students, as well as fill out the referral.
Grade 1 referrals can be sent in after our PETS lessons in January. Leigh will be in touch to schedule your class.
In addition, if you have a parent that is interested in having a student screened, parents may fill out a referral and permission form from the Sage website or Leigh would be happy to send a copy home for them.
Please do not hesitate to contact Leigh if you have any questions.
CARE & SHARE
Please remind your students to bring in items for Care & Share. Our monthly food collection makes a huge difference in our community, while teaching our students the importance of giving. As an added incentive, the class that brings in the most each month will earn 15 minutes of extra recess on the new playground!
