#GivingShoesDay!
This November we're celebrating #GivingTuesday all month long with #GivingShoesDay!
At Girls on the Run, we know the power of a quality pair of shoes: The ability to set goals and achieve dreams. Since 2007, with support from our long-time partner, Fleet Feet Santa Rosa, we’ve provided over 600 pairs (a value of over $45,000) of quality running shoes to girls who need them.
We anticipate providing shoes to nearly 200 girls in 2019 at a value of $10,000!
Girls on the Run changes lives. It empowers our girls to unleash their limitless potential and gives them skills to navigate the world confidently and become tomorrow’s leaders. That’s why I love working for Girls on the Run Sonoma County, and it’s why I’m asking you to make a donation so that more girls can experience the program. Thank you! We hope you'll join us in this important mission by DONATING and helping us spread the word on social media!

The Schoolwide Acceptance and Inclusion Assembly
has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 1/29: This special assembly will be led by Jessica and Larkin, mothers of two exceptional children who happen to have Down Syndrome. Read more about them in this March 2018 article from The Press Democrat. The duo will read a book and talk about the many differences and similarities kids can have. Students will participate in activities to gain a better understanding of what it’s like to have a disability. All students will receive an informational packet about what they learned during the assembly and activities.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the activities. The sign-up sheet is located here. Parents are encouraged to join us for the assembly to learn from these two amazing mothers!

Make-A-Wish at Penngrove
All around the United States, kids of all ages are writing letters as an easy and inspiring way to give back this holiday season! For several years Penngrove has participated in the Macy’s Believe Campaign towards the race to raise 1million dollars for Make A Wish.
Every Wednesday as part of Recess Renaissance, we will be writing letters and drawing pictures of our wishes this holiday season. For every letter we send to the North Pole, 1$ will get donated to Make-A-Wish. . .
Make-A-wish is a special group that grants wishes to children with life threatening conditions.
So this year in the spirit of giving back please join us on stage Wednesday’s at lunch recess.
Get your friends, family, teachers,.... Anyone can participate!
Wanted: Half gallon cartons for 2nd grade!
