Family Activity Sheet – (This is in your mailboxes. Please send home today) Parents, please complete the family activity sheet that is being sent home with your child. The family activity sheet is the ChooseMyPlate. With your child, decorate the choose my plate activity sheet with what foods you would eat as a meal. Please turn in these completed sheets on Friday, April 28th. They will be displayed in the cafeteria of each building.

Food Drive – We are asking students to bring in canned good items to be donated to the Grant Township Food Pantry.

Food Tasting – Our Food Director Mrs. Longo is going to have a special “food tasting” for students to try new veggies and fruits during their lunch time.

Summer Learning Opportunities

BHSD will be offering Summer Learning Opportunities in June! We will have Math and Reading Courses for current Kindergarten through 7th grade students as well as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) for current 4th-7th grade students.


Incoming 5th grade students will also have the opportunity to participate in a Transition Camp in August to learn more about 5th grade and orientation to the building.

4th grade into 5th grade transition camp

Students entering 5th grade in the 2017-2018 are invited to participate in 5th grade Transition Camp at Big Hollow Middle School. This will be a fun filled experience for students to participate in many different activities at the Middle School. Students will have the opportunity to practice their schedules, learn middle school expectations, learn on chrome books and participate in fun games and activities. Transportation is included with your registration! Students will attend for 3 sessions in August (8:30-11:30 AM August 15-17). More information is available on the Big Hollow website. Parents will be invited to join their student on Thursday for student led tours and wrap up activities.
