Can't Hide Our Hound Pride!

Howdy Hounds!

We hope you have had a great weekend...and had a chance to take advantage of an extra hour of sleep as we turned our clocks back an hour...especially after that Astros WORLD SERIES WIN! In honor of this achievement...lets all wear Astros Orange and Blue tomorrow to show our pride!

We want to send a shout out to Ms. Adam's kindergarten class for having the highest attendance at our Freddy's Spirit Night last week! Her class has earned a very special ice cream sundae party courtesy of Freddy's!

Please remember that election day is Tuesday. Our closest polling location is Fulshear High School. Your voice matters!

We are looking forward to celebrating our Veteran's this week. Our fifth graders have been hard at work as they prepare for the annual Veteran's Day performance. Please join us on Thursday at 6:00pm at the Fulshear High School Auditorium, as this is a community performance to honor all Veterans of our wonderful country. We also want to encourage all students and staff to wear red, white, and blue on Friday in observance of Veteran's Day.

We hope you plan on joining us at our Picnic with Parents on Thursday, November 17th to celebrate Parent Involvement day. The flyer is below and you can RSVP here.

Finally, I want to share some clarification to our morning arrival procedures. As I have shared before, having students in the classrooms by 7:30am is essential for teaching and learning. We start Hound Time promptly at 7:30, which is when our students receive their necessary interventions and enrichment activities. To ensure the safety of students and families that arrive late, we will close the drop off line at 7:30. Please note that if your student arrives in the building after 7:30, he or she will be counted tardy. Once the drop off line is closed, vehicles will need to go up to Huggins Drive, turn right and enter the parking lot. Parents/guardians will need to park and escort their child into the building, utilizing the cross walk. Cars should exit the parking lot the same way they entered to avoid driving near the crosswalk. We will have the parking area near the crosswalk coned off to prevent cars from driving through the crosswalk. The sole purpose of this process is to ensure the safety of our students. Staff members enter the building at 7:30 to begin teaching, which means we do not have individuals on duty to escort students that are tardy. Additionally, we cannot have any cars park in the fire lane when walking their children into school. Please remember that this procedure is only used after 7:30am. Parents are not permitted to park and walk their students into school before 7:30am, as it creates a safety concern when we have pedestrians crossing our car line. The parking lot will be closed until 7:30 to prevent cars from entering. As a reminder, we strongly encourage all vehicles to utilize Charger Way and arrive to Huggins by heading south on Katy-Fulshear Road to ensure you are following the traffic pattern. This will help ensure you are easily able to turn onto Huggins Drive when the drop off line is closed at 7:30am.

Here's to a great week!

LCISD Beginning of Year Forms - Action Needed

For the 2022-23 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center.

Offering these forms digitally allows you the convenience of only updating information that has changed from last school year, while also helping us maintain accurate information in our student information system. Instructions, important dates and technical assistance regarding the online forms can be found by clicking here. Included on this page is a link to reset your Family Access username/password if you have forgotten it.

Online forms will be available through the Family Access Center starting Aug. 1 and all forms need to be submitted no later than Sept. 16th. Your student’s schedule will not be available online through the Family Access Center until all of the beginning-of-year forms are completed for your student and after the campus has released schedules. Student schedules will be available online on Wednesday, Aug. 17th if all online forms have been completed.

For those who need access to a computer or the Internet, computers will be available on campus Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting August 8th.

Huggins Dress Code

Starting with the 22-23 school year, students at Huggins Elementary will not be required to follow a uniform policy. All students must comply with the LCISD Dress Code, as outlined in the Elementary Student Handbook. We encourage all students to wear purple for Charger Thursday, in support of our Fulshear Chargers. We also encourage students to participate in Huggins Spirit Day on Fridays by wearing Huggins shirts and/or red!
